Ball Mount Rise and Drop Selection Guide

A ball mount aka stinger inserts into the hitch receiver tubing mounted to the towing vehicle and provides the mounting for the hitch ball that the trailers coupler attaches to when connected to the vehicle. Capacity of the ball mount should match the capacity of the tow vehicle, receiver hitch, coupler, axle and trailer wheels. The total towing capacity will be the lowest capacity in the chain of components.

Ball mounts provide the link between your receive and the trailer's coupler and additionally they also provide the matching rise or drop required to connect the trailer and keep the tow level.
